I’d mentioned in a previous post about trying out an American Football MMO currently in its open beta. Goal Line Blitz has quickly taken over as my official online addiction. My best guess as to why this has happened is probably the combination of not needing a massive time investment: you can easily manage to play with a spare 10 minutes a day. That’s not to say that you can’t spend a great deal of time playing it, but it’s not necessary. My other guess as to why it’s addictive is I’ve found myself playing for a involved team of guys who really put a lot of effort into it.

My “little” guy’s a beast though. The position I went for was full back. He’s 6′5″ and 239 lbs. That’s what I call a “big’un.” He’s massive for a full back which is a bit unusual; I’ve christened him “Hamish McMannpants.” I dare anyone to ask Hamish why he wears a skirt.

I’d been talking it up so much MotH even started playing. Hell, he’s even got 2 players to my 1. Our season started on Saturday. My team won its first game. Not too shabby. Next game’s today and I’m waiting with eager, dork-drooling anticipation.

Best part about the game, it’s easy to get picked up by a team by posting on the “Looking for Players” forum so there’s no need to sit around as a free agent. If you’d like to start up a character (it’s free!), you can use my referral link or just go to the link I posted above. It’s a great joy helping you find another way to waste time at work.
