I used to play online computer games … a lot. Started with StarCraft, then EverQuest (beta, then retail, met MotH: see “Who the hell…?”), Anarchy Online, Dark Ages of Camelot, World of Warcraft (beta, then retail), I’m sure I’m leaving something pertinent out. Now that EBO is here (see “Who the hell…?”), not so much gaming. Well, not ever really. I want to, honestly. She doesn’t allow me. I’ve been relegated to blogging, internet shopping and the occasional email.
Sleep is Key.
EBO is a defier of sleep, like lots of babies assuredly are. This kid is an expert sleep regressionist: If it’s not teething, it’s some developmental milestone or wanting to party with mom and dad in the middle of the night. This makes me a zombified, drained-of-life lover of sleep. When I get 6 hours straight, I feel like Rip Van Winkle.
Sleep begets gaming. MotH is starting to worry that the lack-of-sleep/gaming will result in no new gaming rig being purchased for the next wave of MMOs. This child must sleep. At very least, she needs to become one with the inspiring power of sleep before the release of Warhammer Online or possibly Age of Conan.
